Dr. Lisa Bourque, C. Psych.

Dr. Lisa Bourque, C. Psych. is registered with the College of Psychologists. Dr. Bourque is a Psychcologist who has worked in a private practice and a hospital setting (Anxiety Treatment & Research Centre) for over 15 years. Dr. Bourque is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (CACBT) and is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, McMaster University. She is teaches mental health professionals about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety Disorders, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.


Dr. Lisa Bourque offers psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment utilizing a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach for adults, adolescents, couples, and families. Dr. Bourque also works with front-line medical and emergency service providers such as police, firefighters, and paramedics, as well as employees who have been emotionally or physically traumatized/injured on their job.


CBT helps clients understand how their thoughts and behaviors influence their feelings. Dr. Lisa Bourque has a special interest in treating anxiety disorders (panic attacks, agoraphobia, social phobia, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder), trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), anger management, stress management, addiction, self-esteem, relationship and parenting issues.


Sliding scale and self-referrals acccepted, along with third party insurance referrals such as WSIB, Manulife, Sunlife, and Great West Life.
